Samarth P Shetty is the founder of By The Peepal Tree. He is driven by the goal of making mental health awareness accessible to all. He is committed to inculcating a rationally positive approach towards mental health challenges.
A certified counselling psychologist with more than 20 years of experience, Samarth has expertise in counselling psychology, suicide prevention, alcohol and drug addiction rehabilitation, corporate psychology, family, adolescent, geriatric therapy and relationships, in addition to sexual health awareness and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy.
Samarth has worked across diverse mental-health and training environments—including Swaroopa Research Centre (alternative education psychology), Hidden Pockets (sexual health advocacy), Gutsy Innovation (LGBTQIA+ and life-skills corporate training), Swabhava Counseling Centre (gender sensitization and sex education), and Alvas (life-skills training). He is also the founder of By the Peepal Tree, creating 150+ mental-health awareness blogs. Most notably, he served as a Volunteer Counselling Psychologist at Samadhana Counseling Centre for 13 years, offering therapy, psychoeducation on narcotics, and community mental-health support.
With his motive and commitment to bring about a positive change in lives, Samarth has worked extensively over the years, impacting over 5,000 lives. He continues his mission to encourage people to open up about their challenges and to help them develop a rationally positive outlook in approaching mental health.
