Cardiology
Cardiology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study and treatment of disorders of the cardiovascular system, specifically the heart, veins, and arteries. A sub-specialty in internal medicine, it focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions that range from congenital defects to heart diseases, including congestive heart failure and coronary artery disease.
Cardiovascular causes account for most sports-related deaths, especially in young athletes. The causes of sudden cardiac arrest are heterogeneous and associated with a spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.
The basic functioning of the cardiovascular system includes the way the heart processes oxygen and nutrients in the blood, which is called coronary circulation. The cardiovascular system consists of coronary arteries and coronary veins.
Some of the most known Heart disorders are as below:
- Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
- Heart Arrhythmias.
