The department of rheumatology provides specialty services in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Our team of rheumatologists focuses mainly on immune-mediated disorders of the musculoskeletal system, autoimmune disorders, soft tissues, vasculitides, and heritable connective tissue disorders.

Rheumatic diseases and osteoarthritis aren’t linked to problems with your immune system. It results from damage to cartilage, the cushiony material on the ends of your bones. As it wears down, your joints hurt and become harder to move. It usually affects the knees, hips, lower back, neck, fingers, and feet. A rheumatologist is an internist or paediatrician with further training in the diagnosis (detection) and treatment of diseases that affect the muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons. These illnesses can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and joint deformities.

A patient’s significant symptoms are:

  • soft tissue rheumatism

  • Collagen vascular diseases
